Mum happy with Amy's Grammy absence
Amy Winehouse's mum is pleased that her daughter did not attend Sunday night's Grammy Awards.

The singer was the big winner at the LA ceremony, picking up three prizes for her 'Rehab' single, one for her album Back To Black and the prestigious Best New Artist gong.

But she was forced to perform two songs via satellite from London after her US visa was granted too late to make the event.

Her mum Janis told GMTV: "I think it would have been too much for her because all of the travelling and flying there, I mean seeing what the Grammys was like... we could see it live from there and I thought if Amy were there, she'd be lost in it. She'd be a little girl lost in it."

She added that Winehouse's health is improving as a result of her stay in a London rehab clinic, saying: "Well, as you saw, she looks good and it's a case of she's on the road, and that's what it's about, she's on the road to recovery. It's Amy coming back, she's definitely on the way back."
