Spears 'doesn't want children back'

Britney Spears' first husband has claimed that the singer does not want to regain custody of her two sons.

Jason Alexander, who was married to Spears for 55 hours in 2004, said she has stopped fighting Kevin Federline over Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James.

He told In Touch: "She wants to see them, but she doesn't want to be a full-time mom. She said it doesn't matter if she doesn't get them back full-time, and that she can always have other kids later on."

Spears lost all visitation rights to her children last month after she was hospitalised following a custody dispute at her home.

Alexander said he had rekindled his friendship with his ex-wife since Christmas and she was aware that she was mentally ill.

He added: "She does want to get better. She doesn't sound as crazy right now as she did three weeks ago, but she's not right. She isn't well enough to know what she wants."

Animal rights group PETA recently suggested that Spears' recent troubles may be a result of her diet.
