Peaches Geldof has revealed that she is writing a book of short stories.

The 18-year-old student and part-time journalist told Metro that she had signed a deal to pen some fictional tales about "happiness and melancholy".

Geldof revealed the news at the opening of a new H&M store on London's Regent Street and commented: "I can't say too much for legal reasons."

She was joined by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Dirty Pretty Things' Carl Barat, Immodesty Blaize and Mark Ronson at the clothes store launch.

The daughter of Live Aid creator Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, Peaches is planning to study English and Film at university later this year.
