Paris investigated over pet dogs

Paris Hilton is being investigated by LA's Department of Animal Services after revealing that she owns 17 dogs.

The socialite told chatshow host Ellen DeGeneres that she keeps her pets in a mini version of her mansion in her garden, which she had filled with replica furniture including a chandelier

However, it is illegal to have more than three dogs at any one residential address in LA unless it is a kennel or breeding facility.

According to TMZ, an animal rescue group complained to the authority after hearing Hilton's comments, prompting officials to pay her a visit.

Neither Hilton nor the dogs were at the property at the time and a full inspection will reportedly be carried out at a later date.
