Heather Mills took a swipe at her estranged husband Sir Paul McCartney outside court yesterday.

The former model criticised Macca after he refused to sign an album cover for a fan who had approached him outside London's High Court.

The fan, called Joe, had brought his entire collection of Beatles LPs with him. But when he asked Paul to sign The White Album, the singer replied: "I can't sign that here."

However, Joe did manage to get an autograph from Heather, who told him: "You should have told him that it's his fans who made him rich and famous. You put him where he is."

Joe told The Sun: "I'm a lifelong fan of Sir Paul and the Beatles. I'm so disappointed. Heather was really nice about it. And I guess she was right."

Paul and Heather's divorce battle will resume on Monday.
