Pete Doherty has shocked a clothing firm by demanding £30,000 for a one-day photoshoot.

The singer, who posed for Italian label Roberto Cavalli last year, is now asking three times the sum Linda Evangelista said she required to "get out of bed" in the '90s.

Bargain fashion company Lastseason.com offered Doherty £5,000 to model for their new campaign after reading reports of his financial troubles, but were told that £30,000 was the "bare minimum" he would accept.

According to The Sun, an email from his representatives said the proposed fee was "batting substantially below the mark".

A spokesman for the firm said: "When they said £30,000 I nearly had a heart attack. Who does he think he is, Claudia Schiffer?

“I thought Pete could do with a day’s work for what would be good money by anyone’s standards. He is just not worth that much.”

It was revealed last week that Doherty is to play a solo gig at the Royal Albert Hall.
