Travolta to waltz at Oscar ceremony

John Travolta is rumoured to be putting on his dancing shoes for Sunday's Oscars.

The show's director Gil Cates reportedly wants the actor to break into a waltz when he presents the Best Original Song award at the ceremony.

It is thought he will join singer Jon McLaughlin onstage as he performs 'So Close' from the movie Enchanted with a troupe of dancers.

A source told E! Online: “[John] is going to grab one of the dancers and dance his way to the podium and then present."

Travolta and his chosen companion will spend a few hours rehearsing with the ceremony's choreographer on Saturday.

The star's publicist said: "We have no idea what they’ve got planned for John this year. We won’t know anything until we see Gil Cates at rehearsals this weekend."
