Radcliffe nudity wins theatre award

The publicity shots for Daniel Radcliffe's appearance in Equus have won a theatre award.

The Harry Potter actor won the Theatre Event of the Year gong at the Whatsonstage Theatergoers' Choice Awards.

Radcliffe was also named Newcomer of the Year.

Speaking after the awards, Radcliffe said: "I'm truly delighted and thank everyone so much for voting for me.

"Equus is a tremendous and thought-provoking play and I'm so proud and honoured to have been a part of this incredible production."

Other winners at the awards included Hairspray, which won seven gongs, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which bagged the Best Musical Revival accolade.
