Darren Day puts past behind him

Darren Day has revealed that he felt like a "panto villain" when he was branded a love rat in the media.
The actor has insisted that he has turned over a new leaf thanks to the success of his relationship with Stephanie Dooley, who he married last year. They have one child together, Madison, who survived against the odds when she was born five weeks premature in 2006.
"Our baby was premature and there were so many complications and we were told by so many people that she wouldn't make it," Darren told the Daily Record. "Stephanie was in hospital for the last 10 weeks of the pregnancy and every day we'd be told by paediatricians that it was very unlikely this baby would make it.
"I used to go down to the hospital chapel every single day and fall to my knees and pray with all my heart."
Asked about his relationship with Stephanie, Darren revealed: "I'm faithful and happier than I've ever been. Maybe it's time to move on because I've moved on. Sometimes I felt like a panto villain. For a long time it affected me deeply."
In 2005, Day ended his relationship with Suzanne Shaw, who is the mother of his first child, Corey. It was claimed that he had walked out on Mother's Day, declaring that he "didn't do family".
"I never said that. I would never, ever say anything so callous as that," Darren explained. "I didn't leave on Mother's Day and Suzanne would say the same. The two of us are fine and the most important person in our lives is our son."
