Raymundo Ortega took legal action after Lohan's Mercedes-Benz collided with his van as he was making a turn in October 2005. He claimed that Lohan had "consumed alcohol and became intoxicated" prior to the accident, though a police report stated that there were "no signs" of this and ruled that the crash had been caused by Ortega making an illegal U-turn.
At the time, Lohan insisted that Ortega's actions were "nothing more than an attempt to extort money from a celebrity by making false and scurrilous allegations in a complaint." She later filed her own countersuit.
Ortega's lawyer Robert Klein has now confirmed that his client has settled for an undisclosed amount. "It's been resolved," he said.
Lohan recently complained about the way the media treats her, insisting that the paparazzi are misleading the public by making her look like a drunk.
