Britney Spears reunites with her sons

Britney Spears was reunited with her two sons yesterday for the first time in nearly two months.

The singer's visitation rights had been suspended at the beginning of January, after a child custody dispute at her home sparked fears for her mental health.

However, after reaching an agreement with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, Spears was able to spend three hours with Sean Preston and Jayden James yesterday. The star's father James Spears and a psychiatrist were believed to be present throughout the visit.

Federline's spokesman Elliott Mintz confirmed that Britney's situation has improved as a result of the intervention of her father, who has been granted temporary control over the singer's affairs.

"James Spears went a long way in terms of stabilising an environment that surrounded Britney which was wildly in flux," he explained. "It's clear Britney is in a different place now than she was a week or two ago."
