The TV host started dating Peter after he starred in the second series of the BBC's Fame Academy in 2003, but she later dumped him because she was tired of his wild ways.
A friend of Fearne told the Daily Star Sunday: "She's worried the whole thing is going to get dragged up again. She has moved on. He clearly hasn't."
One track inspired by Fearne on Peter's forthcoming album My Secret Suicide, called 'Alcoholic's Love Song', contains the lyrics: "With your hands around my neck, you knock me off my feet, you're ripping out my throat."
"Most of the songs on the album are about relationships gone wrong," Peter explained. "Not all of them are about Fearne but some are, including 'Alcoholic's Love Song'."
He added: "Fearne was the perfect girlfriend but it was me that was going through a bad time."
