Around 2,000 fans showed up to see Akon perform at the Fields Shopping Mall in Copenhagen, despite the venue only having capacity for 1,000 people.
After the mall's fire alarm sounded the police evacuated the building and several fans began attacking officers with missiles including bottles and racks.
The riot caused several injuries though none were serious.
Akon was recently charged with second-degree harassment after he threw a boy off stage and hit a member of the crowd, causing the victim concussion.
