Parker joins cast of Broadway play

Sarah Jessica Parker is to play an Italian air hostess on Broadway.

The actress, who began her career in a theatre production of Annie in the 1970s, will star in a new version of Boeing Boeing.

The hit comedy, which is currently showing in London, tells the story of three flight attendants who become engaged to the same man.

Talking about her refusal to be typecast, the 42-year-old said: "Everything I’ve done since Sex And The City ended on TV has been completely different.”
