Busey apologises for lunging at Garner

Gary Busey has apologised for his behaviour on the red carpet at this year's Academy Awards.

The Lethal Weapon star lunged at Jennifer Garner and kissed her on the neck while she was talking to E! Network host Ryan Seacrest.

Busey then stood next to Garner for the duration of the interview before she was dragged away by Best Actress nominee Laura Linney.

Calling into Seacrest's morning radio show, Busey said: "I didn't know you were in the middle of an interview and I was just moving through there. Your eyes looked like a deer in the headlights.

"You are to me, when you're working, an innocent champion of honesty. Your heart has a way of embracing the truth and honesty without looking like you're reading from a script."

Quizzed by Seacrest on his lunge towards the two actresses, Busey added he was trying to congratulate Linney: "I met her [Linney] years ago and I complimented her on her craft and last night was a congratulations to her for the nomination she earned."
