Aussie actor Eric Bana has ruled out returning to comedy roles in the future.

Bana made his TV debut in the sketch show Full Frontal in 1993, and won a Logie award in 1997 for most popular comic.

However, he insists that he will never return to that field of work because it left him feeling "burnt out".

He told the Daily Telegraph: "By the time I started doing film I was kind of burnt out.

"I know it is frustrating for people who like to see that stuff and I just tell them to go onto YouTube, I just had had enough of it.

"I did it for a long time back home where they probably don't take me seriously and internationally people can't believe I was once funny so it's a good scenario, I enjoy that scenario."

Bana is currently promoting his role as King Henry VIII in The Other Boleyn Girl. He has also been confirmed as the villain in the new Star Trek movie.
