Beesley: 'Dating Mel B hurt my career'

Max Beesley has claimed that dating Scary Spice Melanie Brown damaged his career "100%".

The Hotel Babylon actor dated Brown for three years after she split up with husband Jimmy Gulzar.

However, he claims the relationship ended up ruining his acting credibility and believes it completely changed the public's perception of him.

He told the Daily Mail: "It just so happened that I fell in love with a particular person at a particular time. It made the front pages wherever we went.

"It wasn't a particularly nice situation to be in and, as far as I could see, it had no benefits and plenty of disadvantages. It damaged my career 100%.

"I was getting painted with the same celebrity brush as her, and nobody was paying any attention to my work, which was really unfortunate. Everything slowed right down."

After he split from the Spice Girl, Beesley went on to date a host of stars including Melanie Sykes, Dannii Minogue, Davinia Taylor, Jodie Marsh and Echo Beach star Susie Amy.
