Nicole Richie to appear on Broadway?

Nicole Richie has reportedly been offered a lead role in Chicago on New York's Broadway.

According to Us Weekly, Richie was asked to play murderess Roxie Hart in the stage show.

Roxie Hart was played by Renée Zellweger in the 2002 big screen adaptation of the musical.

A source commented: "She's definitely interested and weighing it up with the timing of the baby. It is in the super-early stages of discussions and no decision has been made yet.

"It would give her a reason to really show her talent and to stay in the new apartment in New York Joel just bought. It also shows people are really excited about Nicole right now."

Richie, who is engaged to Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden, gave birth to daughter Harlow Winter Kate in January.
