Romo upsets Simpson over ex Underwood

Tony Romo has upset girlfriend Jessica Simpson by comparing her unfavourably to his ex.

The sports star dated American Idol winner Carrie Underwood before hooking up with Simpson in November 2007.

According to OK!, he believes Underwood is a better singer than his new love and was not afraid to be honest about his opinion.

A source said: "He really hurt Jess' feelings. She tried to laugh it off in Hawaii (where Tony played in the Pro Bowl), but she pouted whenever she heard Carrie's songs playing."

Romo is also unconvinced that his girlfriend's venture into country music will be a success.

The insider added: "Tony said he thought Jess would have trouble winning over audiences with her upcoming country CD."

It was recently reported that the couple are on the brink of getting engaged.
