Amy Winehouse has been diagnosed with impetigo, say reports.

The singer has been prescribed antibiotics for the illness, according to America's People.

A spokesperson for the popstar said: "She's fine. She's not hiding away. She's never been one to care what people think."

Impetigo is a skin infection that leaves pimple-like lumps and is highly contagious. Touching the sores will lead to the spread of infection around the body and to other people.

It is usually only suffered by children and minor cases usually clear in a couple of weeks.
