Drew Barrymore donates $1 million to kids

Drew Barrymore has donated $1 million to help feed starving schoolchildren in Kenya.

The actress told US chatshow host Oprah Winfrey that she gave the money to the UN's World Food Programme.

The agency has launched a $3 billion global campaign to feed 59 million schoolchildren in developing countries for a year.

Barrymore, a WFP ambassador, said: "I'm able to make this incredible donation - this has changed my life."

Her friend and production partner Nancy Junvonen recently spoke out in support of the star's romance with actor Justin Long.
