Natalie Portman has admitted that she may begin a career in politics when she gets "too ugly" for Hollywood.
The actress said that in ten years' time she would consider working in the political field because she might be "over the hill".
She told Time: "It's not a bad idea. I'm not going to be getting parts in the next five to ten years - I'll be over the hill.
"Maybe I can go into politics once I'm too ugly for Hollywood."
Portman also offered sympathy to young stars that are hounded by the media, arguing there needs to be a change in attitude from the general public.
She said: "You're never going to change the fact that it's hard for some people to deal with their lives, but you can change your reaction.
"Give them their space and privacy. The worst thing about our society is that it revels in people's difficult times."
