James Blunt has screened war footage from his time in the army during a gig in New York.

The singer played in front of images filmed from NATO vehicles during the war in Kosovo. Blunt was a captain in the British army at the time.

Blunt used the pictures while he played new track 'No Bravery' at the Beacon Theatre.

The 'You're Beautiful' star told New York Daily News: "The film was my footage, taken from our vehicles while we patrolled."

He also revealed that he had recently gone back to the region to perform and claimed he was received warmly by local residents.

"I recently had the chance to go back and play for the Serbs, and they were all in on my message. It's great because music is the strongest form of communication, and it was nice to connect with them," said Blunt.
