Patrick Swayze suffering from cancer?

Actor Patrick Swayze is suffering from pancreatic cancer and may only have five weeks to live, according to a report in the National Enquirer.

The 55-year-old Dirty Dancing star was reportedly diagnosed with the disease in late January and the cancer has spread to other organs.

Swayze and wife Lisa Niemi have been flying their private jet to Stanford University's cancer centre in Palo Alto for treatment.

The actor allegedly underwent three doses of chemotherapy that shrank the tumour but his doctors were less than happy with the final results.

"He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure," an insider is quoted as saying.

Swayze's breakthrough role came as a dance instructor in 1987's Dirty Dancing. In the early '90s he starred opposite Demi Moore in Ghost and with Keanu Reeves in action movie Point Break. His recent work includes Donnie Darko and the upcoming Jessica Biel film Powder Blue.
