Barrymore, Long to adopt a puppy

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long are planning to adopt a puppy.

The Hollywood couple, who met on the set of He's Just Not That Into You, are looking to take in an unwanted dog.

A source revealed: "They don't want a bratty little beast of a dog. They want a mix of a yellow Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd, a mutt that they can rescue."

Long admitted he was attracted to Barrymore because of her kind nature.

"She smells good. She's beautiful and funny. And she is the most compassionate person I've ever met," said Long.

Barrymore recently donated $1 million to aid starving children in Africa.

Speaking to US chatshow host Oprah Winfrey, Barrymore said: "I have seen with my own eyes what a difference a simple cup of nutritious porridge can make in a child's life. It helps them learn, stay healthy and sets them on track for a bright future."
