Footballers offer help to Ashley, Cheryl

Ashley Cole's Chelsea teammates have offered to buy his and Cheryl's Surrey home to help their struggling relationship.

Cheryl reportedly demanded that the pair leave their property in Oxshott last week because she believes the footballer was unfaithful to her in their marital bed.

The departure is part of a series of ground rules laid down by the Girls Aloud singer following reports that Ashley cheated on her in 2007.

The England defender told his friends about the planned move and they have said they will help ensure a quick sale by purchasing the mansion.

French striker Nicolas Anelka and German international Michael Ballack are rumoured to be keen on investing in the area.

A source told The Sun: "Ashley told the lads that he was selling the house on Cheryl’s orders. And rather than sympathy, he just got lots of interest in the mansion.

"Anelka is still renting in the area and is very keen. But as they are cutting out agents' fees he would want a good price. Michael Ballack showed an interest too."
