Clooney denies engagement rumours

George Clooney has denied reports that he is to marry girlfriend Sarah Larson.

A restaurant worker in Laglio, the Italian town where Clooney owns a villa, had been quoted as saying that the pair were already engaged.

They fuelled speculation of an impending commitment when Larson accompanied the actor to the Oscars last month, the first time he has taken a date to the ceremony. They are also rumoured to have moved in together.

However, although they will celebrate their one-year anniversary in June, Clooney denied plans to take the relationship to the next level.

His representative Stan Rosenfield told WENN: "[There's] no truth to any element of this story."
