Swayze's mum speaks out on treatment

Patrick Swayze's mother has spoken out about her son's battle with pancreatic cancer.

The Dirty Dancing actor was diagnosed with the disease earlier this month, but his mother has insisted that he will fight the cancer.

Patsy Swayze, 81, told The Mirror: "He just does not deserve it. He's got such a big heart and been such a good and generous person.

"It breaks my heart to know he's suffering. But he's hanging in there and getting the best treatment."

US reports claimed Swayze lost over a stone in weight after developing the illness in January.

However, the actor's publicists have denied rumours that he only has weeks to live and claimed he was responding well to treatment.
