Robbie Williams has reportedly made plans to buy a £2.5 million observatory in Arizona.

The popstar has developed a fascination with extra-terrestrials and space while in America and wants to pursue his star-gazing with his own specialist building, claims The Sun.

Williams is apparently a regular visitor to the National Optical Astronomy Observatories in Tuscon.

"Some of Robbie's acquaintances in LA have been having a chuckle at his expense," said a source.

"He is leading a bizarre existence at the moment - vanishing into the desert to look at stars in far-flung galaxies.

"He is dead set on buying himself his own observatory in the desert. He is hooked on all things from outer space."
