Britney has dinner with Mel Gibson

Britney Spears joined Mel Gibson for dinner in LA on Saturday night.

The singer talked to Gibson for two hours while they ate filet mignon at the Romanov restaurant in Studio City.

A insider is quoted as saying: "It was exciting to have both of them here together. We heard they hit it off and that Britney seemed excited."

Spears took along her friend Victoria, while the actor was joined by some of his own pals in the private dining room.

Gibson, 52, was reported to have sold his Malibu mansion in 2006 because he found living next to Spears unbearable.
