Mills awarded £24.3 million settlement

Heather Mills has been awarded £24.3 million in the final ruling in her divorce battle with Sir Paul McCartney.

The former model told reporters outside the High Court that she was "very, very happy" with the judgment but planned to appeal regarding the amount of information to be made public.

She said she will launch a legal challenge on privacy grounds tomorrow morning.

It was revealed that she had asked for £125 million and the ex-Beatle had offered her £15.8 million from his estimated £825 million fortune.

Judge Hugh Bennett granted her a lump sum of £16.5 million, plus assets of £7.8 million.
