Pang: 'Lennon cheated during our affair'

May Pang has revealed that John Lennon cheated on her during their affair.

The former assistant, who dated Lennon for 18 months while he was married to Yoko Ono, said she caught him being unfaithful twice.

Ono set the couple up in 1973 when she and Lennon temporarily separated after experiencing marital problems. He later referred to the relationship as his "Lost Weekend".

Pang, 57, said: "I know he had a couple of affairs. But he would come back. And when I found out, he'd say, 'I'm sorry.'

"And I forgave him. It was his insecurity. He was like, 'I'm with somebody, am I making the right decisions?' and he did something stupid, and he came back."

She added: "It was just one-night stands. He had one in New York and one in LA. I forgave him. Absolutely. It was one night. What was I going to do? It wasn't something that carried on over and over and over again."

Pang is currently promoting Instamatic Karma, a book of rare photographs of the former Beatle.
