Clooney 'not godfather to Kidman's baby'

'Ocean's 12'

George Clooney has not been asked to be the godfather of Nicole Kidman's unborn baby, his representative has said.

It was reported that the actress was planning to have her baby baptised in a Catholic church and felt her Hollywood friend would be an "ideal" godfather.

But Stan Rosenfield denied that Kidman had made the request, saying: "They are friends, but George was not asked to be the godfather."

Kidman and Clooney became friends on the set of 1997 movie The Peacemaker.

The baby will be Kidman's first with country music star Keith Urban, whom she married in June 2006.

Clooney has also dismissed rumours that he is to return for the final season of ER.
