Reports have claimed that the singer is suffering from the highly-contagious infection impetigo after she was photographed with a number of large sores on her face.
Her spokesman said: "Because of that, she's been put on antibiotics and may have to stay home alone for the next few days."
But Winehouse has been seen partying on several occasions and the marks, which she has been attempting to mask with make-up, have continued to spark speculation.
A doctor told TMZ that she might be suffering from MRSA, while another said the sores were unlikely to be caused by drugs because they were not oval-shaped. However, a third expert suggested that they could change their shape if she was in the habit of picking them.
LA dermatologist Arnie Klein said: "Amy Winehouse should not be coming into close contact with other people while she has open sores."
