Atkinson loses accent to crack America

Ex-Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson is trying to drop her Bury accent and speak in an American one to become successful across the Atlantic.

The 23-year-old is planning to head out to Los Angeles to audition for parts in Hollywood.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Gemma said: "I am really enjoying getting back into acting and I have been practising my American accent, too, for when I go out to LA for some castings."

The I'm A Celebrity... contestant also revealed she wants to launch a music career.

"As well as acting I have been writing songs for my upcoming album which I will be recording in Nashville," she said. "So all in all, this is a very busy time for me."

The actress recently said she needed to wear two bras when playing the Nintendo Wii console to keep her breasts strapped down.
