Businessman Claus Hjelmbak asked Lohan to host his Scandinavian Style Mansion party in LA on March 14 after deciding against first choice Britney Spears.
However, he said the actress was "very difficult to deal with" and had insisted on leaving the bash after just an hour. She also refused to walk the red carpet unless a backdrop featuring rival Paris Hilton was pulled down and threw a "hissy fit" in the mansion's kitchen.
Hjelmbak told Life&Style: "She said no to everything so I had to take it down."
He added: "I think Lindsay's really cute, she has good style, and I like her as a person, but the drama was unnecessary... [She] was very hard to deal with."
Lohan's publicist said her client was not aware that Hilton's name would be there and that there were more reporters present than she had expected.
