Ritchie's dad "shocked" by split rumours

Guy Ritchie's father has admitted he was "shocked" by rumours that his son's marriage to Madonna is on the rocks, reports The Sun.

John Ritchie, 78, insisted that the couple aren't separating, despite reports that the singer was moving to America without Guy.

"They're happy," John said. "I was shocked when I read they were supposed to be having problems. They've been running around different places. That's why they haven't been seen together."

The couple own homes in London and Wiltshire and John Ritchie revealed that Madonna wouldn't take her three children to live in New York.

"She won't be going out to America to live for good. They've got lovely places here."
