McConaughey still plays naked bongos

Matthew McConaughey has insisted that his days of naked bongo-playing are not in the past.

The actor was arrested in 1996 after creating a noise disturbance by playing bongos in the nude. He was allegedly high on marijuana at the time.

Although he is now preparing to become a father with girlfriend Camila Alves, the 38-year-old told the Daily Mail that he still has a wild side.

He said: "My nude bongo-playing days are far from over. I did it 500 times before the cop showed up and I still do it now. The only difference now is that I remember to shut the window."

He added that he is undaunted by the prospect of turning 40, saying: "I'm not the kind of guy who gets freaked out about birthdays. All I know is, getting older gets cooler with each year. By a process of elimination you get rid of what you don't like.

"In my thirties, I started customising my life and refining what I like about myself. I'm not completely there yet but I like to think of myself as a decent work in progress."
