Madonna: 'I had to marry a challenge'

Madonna has revealed that she finds husband Guy Ritchie a challenge.

The singer said the couple, who have been married for seven years, keep each other on their toes because they are equally "tough".

It was recently rumoured that the relationship had hit the rocks when Ritchie did not turn up to see his wife inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.

However, both Madonna's publicist and her father-in-law have denied that any problems exist.

The popstar told Elle: "I had to marry someone as tough as me. Guy's definitely tough, he doesn't give in. But he's obviously been put in front of me to teach me things and vice versa.

"I had to marry a challenge because otherwise I would just get bored. Whatever else Guy is, he's never boring."
