Everyone's favourite Aussie popstar
Kylie Minogue is currently embarking on a promotional blitz of the US with her latest album
X. The singer will follow her American trip with a world tour and will switch her camp dial up to 11 by covering Barry Manilow's hit 'Copacabana'. Her extravagant live show is reported to feature a stage that transforms itself into a cruise ship.
Compulsive scene-stealer
Will Ferrell has mastered the art of playing the same role to perfection.
Talladega Nights,
Blades of Glory and
Semi-Pro all cast the comic actor as an eccentric sportsman and cemented Ferrell's place as Hollywood's go-to funnyman. His next role will see him team with
Anchorman director Adam McKay and John C. Reilly in
Step Brothers.
DS heads from the diminutive Minogue to the towering Ferrell through six degrees of separation.
Kylie Minogue to... Ewan McGregor - Like many successful singers, Kylie has always fancied herself as a bit of a movie star. While she probably won't take kindly to anyone reminding her about
Street Fighter, there's no shame on her part for taking a role in the energetic musical
Moulin Rouge!. Minogue played Absinthe, a singing green fairy who performed with Ewan McGregor on a rendition of the T-Rex classic 'Children of the Revolution'.
Ewan McGregor to... Scarlett Johansson - Fresh from the
Star Wars prequels, Scottish actor Ewan McGregor took the lead role in Michael Bay's action film
The Island thinking he had a guaranteed hit. Sadly for the motorcycle enthusiast, the film was a box office flop and producers Walter Parkes and Laurie McDonald blamed it on McGregor and co-star Scarlett Johansson, saying: "They are not superstars of the present. Even lesser television actresses, quite honestly, would have more connection to that audience." Ouch!
Scarlett Johansson to... David Bowie - Trying a "reverse Kylie", Scarlett has gone from movies to music by recording an album of Tom Waits covers titled
Anywhere I Lay My Head. The actress obviously possesses the singing lungs to match her acting talent as she was able to convince her
Prestige co-star David Bowie to record vocals on two of her album tracks. Bowie described Scarlett's album as "mystical and twice cool". Don't worry, we're not sure what he means, either!
David Bowie to... Owen Wilson - After suffering recent health problems, the artist formerly known as Ziggy Stardust has become something of a rock recluse. Despite a cameo on
Extras and brief live duets with Arcade Fire, Bowie has generally chosen to stay out of the limelight. One of Bowie's more memorable cameos came in
Zoolander when he officiated a dance-off between two vacant models played by Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.
Owen Wilson to... Will Ferrell - As one of the founding members of "The Frat Pack", Owen Wilson knows just about everybody whose anybody on Hollywood's comedy A-list. He's worked with pal Ben Stiller a staggering nine times but has also been a prolific collaborator with Will Ferrell, appearing with the former
Saturday Night Live performer in four films. Ferrell's uncredited cameo as a police informant with a dragon fetish in
Starsky & Hutch is probably the highlight of the Wilson/Ferrell movie face offs.
