The R&B singer wrote in upcoming autobiography Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But that he had never touched cocaine before meeting his former wife.
He also alleged that she had married him to quash speculation that she was romantically involved with her female assistant Robin Crawford.
Houston said she would not stoop to Brown's level by becoming embroiled in a war of words.
Her representative told TMZ: "[She] is sad that Bobby feels he needs to say such things, but she chooses to take the high road and will not speak badly about the father of her child, even if it's to set the record straight."
The couple divorced in April 2007 and Houston retained custody of their 15-year-old daughter Bobbi.
