The actor said he is keen to revert to a more relaxed fitness regime so he will not be remembered for his famous six-pack.
He said: "Bond used to do ten press-ups and smoke 50 cigarettes and drink a bottle of something and pop a pill.
"At the end of the movie we film a scene where I'm fat - because I don't want to be remembered as the physical Bond."
He recently claimed he will play the superspy for as long as his body holds up.
