Trisha 'recovering well' after cancer op

Trisha Goddard is recovering in hospital after undergoing surgery to remove lymph nodes.

The daytime TV presenter had a second operation on Tuesday as part of her treatment for breast cancer.

She was diagnosed with the disease after doctors found a lump during a routine mammogram three weeks ago.

Husband Peter Gianfrancesco said: "Trisha had a second operation to remove the lymph nodes under her left arm yesterday. She is recovering well and is very appreciative of all the support she has received.

"We all remain optimistic about the next phase of her recovery but are taking things one step at a time."

He added that Goddard is expected to return to the home the couple share with her daughters Billie, 18, and Madison, 13, later this week.

The 50-year-old will be absent from her Five show Trisha for two weeks while she recovers.
