A Boston priest has apologised in court for stalking US TV personality Conan O'Brien.
The Rev. David Ajemian was arrested in 2007 at a taping for NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien in New York and was handed a two-year restraining order on Tuesday.
Ajemian, who attended Harvard University at the same time as O'Brien, admitted in court that he sent letters and packages to the talk show host's home and office for over a year.
In one note, which was written on parish stationary, Ajemian said he could be O'Brien's "priest stalker" and wanted to know why he was prevented from attending a taping.
"I'm told by some of those officious little usher people that you're overbooked," the priest wrote. "Is this the way you treat your most dangerous fans? You owe me big-time pal. I want a public confession before I ever consider giving you absolution - or [I want] a spot on your couch."
Ajemian said after the court ruling: "I regret my behaviour that caused concern of the people that I was trying to contact."
