The best friend of Mark Speight has requested that the missing TV presenter gets in touch.

Stu Goldsmith, 42, said that he was worried Speight may be "on the verge of a breakdown" and called for him to come home.

Speight disappeared on Monday following the inquest into the death of his fiancée Natasha Collins. Despite originally being arrested for suspicion of murder and supplying Class A drugs, Speight was not charged.

The inquest ruled that Collins died in a scalding bath after a drugs and drink binge.

Speaking about his missing friend, Goldsmith said: "I fear that he is on the verge of a breakdown. All I am doing is asking him to come forward because his family are so worried about him. I have no idea where he is at the moment. All I hope is that he is alright.

"He was very outgoing at school and well known for having a great laugh and joking around. But there was also a serious side to him.

"Natasha was a lovely girl and the two of them were clearly very in love."

Speight was last spotted on CCTV footage boarding a train at Queen's Park Tube station in North-West London.
