Jack Dee agrees deal for memoir

Comedian Jack Dee is to release a book of "personal memories and experiences".

Transworld has signed up the memoir, which will be published via its Doubleday imprint next autumn.

The company said it had been pursuing Dee for three years and had agreed a deal after a "hotly contested" auction.

Editor Susanna Wadeson said: "I have been a fan of Jack Dee for more than 20 years, and it feels like I've been chasing this book for nearly as long... We could not be more excited to be his publisher."

Dee added: "I'm delighted to be associated with Transworld. Especially now I know that they are a prestigious publishing house and not a dodgy sex shop in King's Cross."

The company will also publish a book by Girls Aloud next year.
