Winstone praises "cowboy" Harrison Ford

Ray Winstone has said that Harrison Ford is still perfect for the role of Indiana Jones despite his age.

Winstone, who plays Jones's friend Mac in the latest instalment of the action franchise, described Ford as being like "a cowboy" on set.

He is quoted as saying: "Harrison is a boy! He was an absolute ball. He can hit that dot on the door, about 20ft away, with his whip. He can drive the car like a stuntman and he can act. He's basically a cowboy!"

The Sexy Beast star also revealed that he would have turned down director Steven Spielberg if his role in the movie hadn't been substantial.

"I wouldn't have done this film for a bit part," commented Winstone. "I said to Spielberg, 'I don't want to just be along for the ride. I want to bring something to it.'

"I'm too old in the tooth to just show my face. I'm never going to be a big Hollywood star, but if I'm going to be in an Indiana Jones movie, I want to be a big part of the story."
