Melinda Messenger splits from husband

Melinda Messenger has split from her husband of ten years, The Sun reports.

The former Page 3 model confirmed that she and husband Wayne Roberts, 30, are having a "trial separation".

A friend of the couple is quoted as saying: "It's simply a question of them growing apart. They seemed to have a fairytale marriage by showbiz standards.

"But obviously there have been difficulties with Melinda becoming such a big star and Wayne having to remain in the background.

"The split's very amicable and they want to put the needs of their children above all else."

Since rising to fame as a Page 3 girl, Messenger has gone on to appear in shows including Fort Boyard, Celebrity Big Brother and Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

The couple had reportedly rowed when they moved from their home in Swindon so their children - Morgan, 8, Flynn, 6 and Evie, 4 - could attend a holistic school in Berkshire.

Messenger's agent said: "They're having a trial separation. They request that their privacy be respected at this difficult time."
