Kylie: 'I may never start a family'

Kylie Minogue has admitted that she may never get married or start a family.

The popstar said she viewed musicians like Debbie Harry and Dolly Parton as an inspiration because they have spent the majority of their careers on their own.

She told German Vogue: "I never had the feeling of a conventional marriage with a terraced house in the suburbs.

"Media interest in supermothers is understandable. But for many that is too much of a good thing.

"There are also artistes such as Debbie Harry or Dolly Parton who've managed to have an unbelievable career without a family. Dolly recently said 'I don't need children. I have brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews'."

The 'Spinning Around' singer added: "Above everything else it comes down to how much love you have in you and if you're ready to give it."

Minogue also spoke about turning 40 next month, insisting that she hasn't got any special celebrations planned.

She said: "For me it's no big deal. I've not planned anything spectacular. I will celebrate with a small circle of friends and the next day will appear at my next concert."
