Mitchell and Webb determined to stay friends
Comedians David Mitchell and Robert Webb have vowed to always remain friends.

The Peep Show duo, who are working on a new sitcom for BBC Two, said they are wary of annoying each other and jeopardising their partnership.

Mitchell told the Press Association: "We have hundreds of bad habits, but you've got to try and play nicely. We've got a lot of money riding on all this, if we have a massive row then we're out of a job!"

Webb added: "If we have 'the' row - I mean any row could potentially be 'the' row that screws everything up. Whatever we're doing to annoy each other accidentally, the other one tries to bury it along with the deep, knotty kind of knot of resentment [so] it just goes on the tab."

Webb denied that the pair are harbouring ambitions to crack the US, saying: "The sketch show [That Mitchell and Webb Look] is being shown there now and there's been some nice things written about it which is all very good, but that's not particularly where we've always been focused."
